The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is dedicated to improving the nation's highway safety. Their website contains current data on the vehicle crashworthiness sortable by year, make and model. In addition, the Institute's excellent library includes articles on such topics as:

  • Problems associated with teenage drivers
  • Alcohol-impaired driving,
  • Truck driver fatigue
  • Safety belt use

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation and is dedicated to reducing deaths, injuries and economic losses resulting from motor vehicle crashes. They maintain a very good library of articles on auto safety with emphasis on preventing vehicle defects, seat belt, air bag, and child seat safety, and anti-theft precautions.


The National Safety Council is dedicated to the prevention of all types of accidents and has an excellent section on auto safety with emphasis on training and education for accident prevention.


E-Safety.com is part of the ParenthoodWeb and offers excellent safety tips with an emphasis on child safety.


Mothers Against Drunk Driving Has a good selection of articles on auto safety from their Driven quarterly publication.
